Are you ready to try ‘cell-cultured’ meat – approval now being sought with the Australian National Regulator – ANZFA

The biotechnology company Vow are seeking approval of their novel quail meat made from laboratory cultured cells. If approval is granted, such meat patties may become a reality for consumers, hitting the supermarket shelves in later 2024. The preliminary FSANZ assessment has found such foods safe to eat, presenting “no health or nutritional risks”. Further public consultation is now in progress.
